My Company had used multiple currencies (CAD & USD) previously

Can anyone share with me their experiences, good or bad, with
using multiple currencies and the "Gotchas" that might have made
this endeavor fail?

FWiW: Is it possible there was\is a tendency to go outside of the application itself, to query the data in its databases directly; e.g. to produce summary reports? If so, that could be difficult without some well defined VIEWs to ease obtaining of /accurate/ information about currency values. For example: A simple query that sums a column which stores rows with multiple currencies, but which is defined with a primitive numeric data type, will give an obviously bogus answer. When assured all currencies are consistent [e.g. running two separate installations, each with its own currency], such an issue will not present itself in accessing the database of the application, outside of that application.
