RE: Vendor Quote Maintenance

The trigger is not the problem. I don't think I made my question
understandable. Do you have the source for your vendor quote main
program? If so, look at the program logic and find the routine that
changes the discontinue date. I'm sure that the program is deleting the
record and adding a new one back to the file with the changed date. I
was capturing the delete and the re-add in my trigger but since the
dates where being changed I had no way of knowing EXACTLY which deleted
record went with which re-add.

It sounds like your trigger is causing you the problem.  Standard BPCS
leaves the record active and the Purchasing system will pick the correct
quote based upon the due date of the purchase order line.

There is not a system parameter in answer to your original question.  I
suggest removing the trigger.

Mine stays active too. But I have a trigger over the file so I know that
when the discontinue date is changed, it deletes the record and then
adds it back with the new discontinue date.

I just checked in Version 6.1.02 and when I change the discontinue the
record stays active.

What version of BPCS are you on?

Currently the Vendor Quote Maintenance program deletes the current
record and adds a new one when the user changes the discontinue date,
instead of just changing the record. Is there some kind of system parm
or something that can be changed to make the program just change the
record and not delete and then add it back with the new date? I don't
have the source for this program and no way to get it.
