It requires a BMR and works entirely differently than on V4xx releases.  We
recently went from V4r5 to V5r3 (on a different machine).  No particular
problems.  We are on 6.1.01 also.

You should always check the latest IBM Info APAR for BPCS for required PTF
levels and check the OnePointSupport website for any product bulletins.

There is a product bulletin currently posted on OnePoint regarding a
potential issue with certain V5R2 and V5R3 PTFs that affect the use of
select/omit logicals when running queries, affecting performance.This issue
