what version OF BPCS? we had similar problems on version 6.00.04. part
of the problem was that while the operator is entering the lines they
are actually being stored on the ECHW and ECLW work files. then when the
operator exits BPCS writes the work files to the real ECH and ECL files.
and while it is doing this it is resequencing the ECL line numbers.

i don't know if this is your situation or not.

We have an occasional issue with order lines disappearing in BPCS.

We have triggers on ECL for Insert, Update and Delete that records
details
of the change in a log file. The update should show a before and after

image.

In the case of the missing lines, the user is usually updating the
quantity and request date on the last line of the order and adding a
new
line at the same time. The result, on some occasions only, is that the

existing line no longer exists in ECL and the new line does. The log
file
in those cases shows a before and after update record for the change to

the existing line, but instead of an insert of the new line it shows
that
BPCS updated the existing line to be the new line !

As an example and order has lines 1,2 & 3 all for some quantity of the

same product on different release dates. Line 3 has the quantity
reduced
and line 4 is added for that quantity a new release date. The result
should be an order with lines 1,2,3 & 4. When the probelm occurs is
that
the order now has line 1,2 & 4, no line 3. The log shows line 3 being
updated with the reduced quantity, then shows line 3 being updated to
be
line 4 with its quantity !

Has anyone seen anything like this ?

SSA Global Support have no record of a similar problem.

Any clues would be helpful.

Thanks.
