Look at the BPCS Logic Manual for clarity on this

Many of the AS/400 standard function keys are used in the same way for BPCS, but BPCS has a richer collection of functions that base 400. One thing you need to be alert to is that many people nowadays use PC keyboards that do NOT have the traditional IBM keys, like HEX and HELP, and F13-F24. But if the screens are designed according to BPCS standards (as spelled out in the BPCS Logic Manual) then a user at a PC screen can click on F24 on screen and that is same as using F24 on a keyboard that has one.

2-Change 3-Copy 4-Delete etc. does not really apply to BPCS
because generally there is a different set of screens or functions to be doing updates, adds, etc. and very rarely does an application need copy.
We generally do not delete things in BPCS ... they become coded as inactive, then can be undeleted or sent bye bye

You can get at SOME of the IBM Work With type programs such as relevant to user reports through the BPCS pop-up menu, but most of the IBM work with type stuff is inappropriate for end users such as JOBS and how the data base is structured.

Hi List,

I am writing a system to interface with BPCS on an AS/400. I would like for my interactive programs to have the same look and feel that the users are use to in BPCS, so I have the following questions.

Does BPCS use the standard AS/400 function keys (F3-Exit, F4-Prompt, F5-Reset, F12-Cancel, etc.)?

Does BPCS use the standard AS/400 options (2-Change, 3-Copy, 4-Delete, etc.)?

Does BPCS use "Work With" type programs?

TIA,
           Tommy
