Effectivity Dates in FRT and MBM files control when you switch from one
revision to another.
Thus you can wrap up production of old revision while planning for the next
one.
Be careful ... entering to FRR and MBM defaults to TODAY DATE for when
effectivity starts, which might not work out right with backward scheduling
of first orders on new part versions.

However there can be scenarios where you desire overlapping, such as
customer sends back some of the old revision for repair rework, or customer
has 2 divisions same company same part but at different revisions.

At 405 CD we can only have 2 revisions of same item in production at same
time by either:
    * releasing under one revision, then doing maintenance of order to make
it other revision
    * experimenting with method codes (one method per revision) and
alternate routings (type 2)
    * temporarily using a copy of the item routing BOM ... such as an R on
the end for REPAIR REWORK or an S on the end for SAMPLE REDESIGN

>the same time.
>Example, new revision/ Engineering change, we want to Purchasing and
>Planning to go off of the new revision.
>Manufacturing and shipping will still be dealing with the old revision.
>We are on 6.101 and have not implemented the Engineering Change Management
