Subject: Re: BPCS 2 Upgrade & Gentran Vs Extol EDI

I recently did a recommendation document for a client comparing Extol,
Gentran, and Peregrine. If your firm has a requirement for EDIINT do not
choose Extol on the basis that it is ( as of May 2001) the only one that
offers bi direction EDIINT. Gentran which has no (as of May 2001) EDIINT
capability can be integrated with Cyclone. The same is true for
Peregrine's TL400 (fomerly Premenos) product.

It is also possible to have an A.S.P EDIINT solution integrated with
Extol,
Gentran, and Peregrine. Extol, Sterling, and Peregrine offer A.S.P.
solutions along with Web Archive.NET.

I also came across an excellent enterprise ready NT solution from IPNET
which as of May 2001, offerred what I considered to be the best EDI and
EDIINT solution with the best price.

Looking for some Professional Opinion out there.

Problems or Things to look out for when:

        1. Moving from BPCS V 2.x to 6.x or 8.x

        2. BPCS with Gentran EDI Solution attached.
(I have experience with BPCS and Extol)

        3. Extol compared to Gentran, Which do you folks prefer.
