An excellent starting point, for a review of the state of art of what is
possible today, is to check out the fold out map of the Connected Enterprise
which came with the latest issue of Midrange Enterprise (formerly ERP
Magazine) and www.SupplyChainTech.com

This map shows all the stuff a manufacturer can have interconnected to manage
accuracy in inventory, planning, tracking parts, supply chain engineering,
etc. with definitions for all the buzz words and links to representative
vendors that supply all the pieces, including SSA GT.

There is a solid education here in what is doable.
I got reprints distributed to my contacts & I have some left over for some
other folks.

I told my co-workers that if we had unlimited funds, here is what we can do,
but since we don't (have unlimited funds), here are links for us to see what
the state of art is across a myriad of possibilities, so we can pick & choose
what is the next thing worth serious exploration.
