There can be several circumstances that cause the BPCS Bill of materials to
go out of synchronization. This can be the results of modifications, file
copping, interfaces with other systems, bugs, etc. One common problem are
sites that have an additional BOM file development (like budget
calculations)linked to the live item master file.
Please note that this can also effect costs. The same calculation mythology
is used for planning and costing.

As far as how frequent to run, my recommendation is monthly as part of the
month end process.
If you are heavily modified or do a lot of BOM changes then you might
evaluate running this weekly before your MRP generation.

Hello, all.

We needed to run BOM900 yesterday in order to resequence low level codes
and allow MRP600 to plan properly. The last time we needed to do this was
literally years ago. Anyone know what causes the low level codes to need
this action? Anyone run BOM900 on a regular schedule? If so, why and how
often?

Thanks for any help.
