You gave the version # of graphical access but not which brand name of
graphical access ... is it IBM Clent Access, IBM Client Access Express, or a
non-IBM deal. Be warned that the OS/400 uses the same VRM # system as CA but
the #s not in sync.

Assuming you have a version of CA, you might find the following links useful

If your security is setup in WRKSYSVAL for automatic recognition of twinax
devices, then the act of connecting a printer will create the configuration
stuff on that printer.

There is a security problem associated with automatic recognition of virtual
devices. If you leave it on automatic recognition, a hacker could get a
virtual session, exhaust password retries, and have that virtual session
varied off, get another virtual session, and keep trying to infinity, so it
is reccommended that this value be off except at the time a known connection
is being attempted.

Your capabilities for automatic recognition of connected hardware can vary at
a remote site depending on what kind of remote controller you have.

This type of question you might want to cross post on one of the AS/400
technical forums, such as MIDRANGE_L or
