I asked about the kind of content in the manual & they sent me some sample
pages. I still have them on my PC & could send to you as an attached Word
file to private e-mail, or you could make the same request as I did.

I was unsuccessful in getting my company to pay for this manual, although I
did later download the IBM RedBook on BPCS Performance, and we do have
several of the UPI Manuals. Of my exposure to these different resources, my
thinking is that the UPI Manuals are excellent for people who are trying to
manage individual BPCS Applications. They are great for just about everyone
except MIS beyond introductions, and not really suitable for folks who need
to do modifications.

The DS Solutions manual fills that MIS gap, in that it is explaining the
innards of BPCS structure. What I saw in the sampling is such that I do not
know if it is competitive in the area where I think UPI is especially strong,
that is to say that the graphics design folks at UPI have done an excellent
job of replacing that old SSA Poster with diagrams of how all the different
applications & programs flow together & inter-relate.

The IBM RedBook on BPCS is not good for beginners & suffers a bit from SSA
self-bragging getting in the way of meaningful technical data.

Were you able to download back issues of the Nexgen newsletter of BPCS topics?
Some other BPCS consultants have some great resources - I just not have all
URLs handy. You might check BPCS_L archives when they are operational.

What is the meaning of July 4th to America?

2001 is the 225th anniversary of the American Revolution, where The USA
declared its independence from Great Britain, or as it is known by the
geographical & historical ignorant, England.

2001 is also the 40th anniversary of the Freedom Riders, who played a
critical role in the Civil Rights Movement.
