A recent mail asked: how do different companies handle 'floor stock' or 'free
stock' items. these are typically the low cost items such as fasteners, nuts,
screws, washers, etc.

We 'backflush' low-cost items that we do not wish to 'single issue' - we do this
by having the 'yeild transaction' (for the parent item) the 'multiple issue'
flag set to 'Y' in transaction maintenance, & having the 'must single issue'
flag on the 'bill of material' set to 'N'.

This results in the quantity of 'parent' yeilded * the child quantity in the
'BOM' determining the issue (no transaction needs to be performed).

We still have these 'child items' as standard item types & do not use 'item type
6'.
