I do not know direct answer to your question but am suggesting places you 
might go look.

If you have the source code you can learn a lot from the file layouts & 
DSPFFD.
If you have the help text where various types & codes & statuses are 
referenced, you can often go to some inquiry program & do an F4 to help that 
explains them.
Some of this stuff is explained on menu DOC but not to the granular level 
that I am happy with, and not indexed at all well.

I would expect this to be explained in "BPCS Overview Reference Manual" 
geared to anyone who needs a high level overview of BPCS.  You can get the 
manual or information about it from
