SSA's trusted link was written by ssa and sold to harbinger which sold it
back to SSA sometime after they bought the premenos product. Peregrine
bought harbinger.  Peregrines version of trusted link is very different from
SSA's version of trusted link.

Actually, communications aside, SSA's trusted link is a fairly flexible
product. I thought that I would see that same flexibility in the top as/400
translators today: sterlings gentran, harbingers trusted link and extol. I
did not.

ECM is the interface files that sit between the application and the
translator. You map your inbound transactions to it and ECA's feed it to the
bpcs system and vice versa.

SSA has some wonderful help text available at the ogs site regarding ECM and
how it fits in.....
