We are on 405 CD with no plans for 6.1

Our Vendor totals are now stored in AVM Vendor Master, with details in the
various BPCS modules that we use such as ACP Payables & PUR Purchasing.

I think you have two choices - the quality alternative & the economy approach.

The quality alternative is to do EDI - there's lots of stuff in the archives
with respect to people using this application.
http://archive.midrange.com/bpcs-l/index.htm

The economy approach starts by asking if what SSA has to offer in their EDI
module is worth the price vs. what you need. EDI can be a nightmare, so if
you need much in that department, I reccommend going with the best quality
approach your money can afford.

If all you need is to get BPCS data into a format that your bank wants, and
if this format is not likely to change often, then there is an infinity of
ways to get AS/400 data to the PC world using shareware & native 400
resources that only cost you some of your MIS time setting up the one you
want to use. Check out the midrange_L archives, or other similar lists
hosted by major trade publications, or ask me off-line to send you some more
URLs like
www.bvstools.com
www.bytware.com/freestuff.htm
www.datawatch.com
www.dbg400.net

The bank will have to tell you file layout needed for their ASCII file.
At 405 CD you still have access to source code on how BPCS data is stored.

If you need to get data from multiple BPCS files into some new file, I
suggest you might take a look at File Track for playing jigsaw puzzle with
400 data.
http://www.outlookcomputing.com

This tool provides capabilities that can be used by a non-programmer to
populate new file layouts with data selected from old file layouts. You
still need to have a programmer set up the file layout that the data is going
to.

After populating new 400 file with the info the bank wants, you need to
convert it to ASCII, which comes with these 400 to PC conversion tools.
