  • Subject: RE: CIM - Bar Code implementation

Hi Ho

I installed a beautiful swimming pool last year in my backyard.
There must be about 7 feet of snow on it. I hope it melts before
Thanksgiving

Bar coding is a good alternative to manual input. We are actually
looking at having barcode readers at each operating machine. (Operators
would swipe their ID cards for start time and swipe once completed). This
would capture the labour hours. We also use bar codes for Inventory and SFC.
Use laser scanner guns, employees find them easier to use (they are more
expensive than the wands). You will need a special printer for bar code
printing shop orders.

One draw back SSA does not support CIMPATH after version 6.04. We
are now on Version 61.01 (ERP) and are still using components of CIMPATH.

        Hope this helps

Marc Lacelle
