Has anyone had experience taking a Costed Bill of Material and sending it to
an Excel spreadsheet.   We are looking to do this on a quarterly basis and
then comparing the last quarter costed bills to current.

That report would be a prime candidate for importation into Monarch.  Monarch is a PC software package that allows you to process text file representations of reports and define rules so as to derive information located within the report.  Once you have formatted the data extraction you can export the data to either a .dbf or .xls or other such format for further analysis.
