Wouldn't that be just the A/R period-end? Set the transaction-retention on
SYS setup adn wait for it to take effect? Ours was set at 99,999 days -
with any luck, I won't be working here that long...My users run their own
fiscal month-ends - A/R usually runs as soon as all cash is posted for the
month.

The Z records are closed - but DO show up occasionally, depending on the
particular logical.....

Subject: RAR "Z" 405 CD Receivables

RAR Questions

Does "Z" in column one of RAR file signify all done?

Is there an SSA supplied program to purge completed accounts receivables?

What is it?

Where should we run it like in end-fiscal check list?

I figure that either we have overlooked an end-fiscal step to ger rid of
records coded for deletion, or SSA has overlooked including one & I need to
create such an entity.

This is related to my "Facility RIP" post.

I have been working on a program to list BPCS data base clean up candidates
that
1) lists our BPCS files with record count
2) SQL count # records by facility - the one going away & invalid contents
3) SQL min max date range to verify contents plausible & catch implausibles

This is illuminating files with garbage records we need to get rid of.

I found out this way that our RAR file has records with "Z" in column one
that date backwards several years.
