Title: RE: System Performance

The recommended approach is as follows:

1. Execute STRDBMON command for a suitable period of time while one or more of these programs are running.

2. Check any records in the output with QQIXDA (Index Advised) and use the fields in QQIDXD (Key Fields for the index advised) to build either Logical files or (the method we use) use SQL Statement CREATE INDEX.

Only one word of caution, the output file created can get very large very quickly, as it can (and if you take defaults, will) log every DB file open on the system.

Hope this helps,

Subject: System Performance

We are in the process of upgrading our BPCS 5.1 to 6.1 mixed mode and are
having serious performance issues with some of the BPCS programs.  There are
a few of them:

BIL540
ACP500/D
BIL500
INV300
SFC720
INV500
BIL550D
BIL560D

Would appreciate hearing from any of you as to your experience with these
programs and what you did to address them.   Our initial observation is that
it is interactive SQL related.  Thanks.
