It depends on the nature of your needs :
There is a third party software which allows you to build and run reports on
cost management, budget analysis, variances, sales performances, profitability,
project analysis... (check on www.portolancs.com)

Another third party software gives you reports at detail level of subsystem and
general ledger (detail of jounal entries, invoices, payments...).
