I only saw a couple of responses to your question. There are some other options
as well. We have worked with "all of the above" as different solutions work
better for each specific situation:

In older versions CIMPath actually provided the ability to print bar coded pick
lists. Besides the fact that CIMPath doesn't exist in v6.1, the bar code
printing has not been supported in any century compliant version.

In v6.1, you have a number of options to consider including:
Mod the print DDS to print bar codes instead of readable text. As noted in
another response, this requires an IPDS printer and a bit of "tweaking" as
the format will have to change to accommodate the size of the bar code.
Implement use of a forms merge package. BPCS offers Optio as a portfolio
product for this functionality. This would not require any changes to the
pick list print. The forms merge package simply reads from the output
queue and generates the desired output at the desired printer. This
functionality may be similar to the forms design package you referenced.
Implement use of a WISIWIG bar code design tool. On the AS/400 TL Ashford
     is a popular tool.
PC based printing can also provide this functionality. A report writer
that can implement use of ODBC for a data source (like Crystal Reports) can
be implemented. This would print to a network printer and would not
require IPDS printers. Depending upon when pick lists are printed and your
formatting, this could be a bigger integration task.

BPCS 6.1 Mixmode AS400

Without digging through the DOC module in BPCS, is there a quick and dirty
way to print barcodes on the PICK LIST for a couple of the fields. Does
BPCS have a module for printing barcodes on various printouts.

I have a separate forms design software package that we use with the
packing list to create a customized looking form but currently the PICK
LIST is not running through that package. It could easy enough but I was
wondering if BPCS had a facility where you could turn on barcode printing
for selected data.

Thanks
