Wayne brings up a great point here.  The GSB file contains summary debits 
and credits for the period only.  Therefore, you can delete any whole years 
you want without affecting any other year.

Of course, you have to be careful not to delete partial years.  If you 
delete certain periods within a year, the entire year will be inaccurate.

I assumed by your previous post that you would purge out data for an entire 
fiscal year.

You will need to be careful when purging these records from the GHH/GLH/GLA
tables as these are summed up in the Balances table (GSB). You can certainly
delete the old records, but you will have a problem if you ever want to get
detail to old account balances or use account inquiry to drill down on old
balances, etc.
