I agree with Bill -- especially avoid changing programs like INV500,
ORD500, etc. You will be retrofitting SSA BMR fixes every month to keep
current with fixes. A less intrusive solution, may be to have a query via
the AS/400 or even with Microsoft Excel Query with connection to the AS/400
to display any ILI records (the display you see from INV300, F19) where
quantity allocated exceeds quantity onhand. You would not have a real time
identification to the problem, but you could know issues every 4 or 8
hours. There is also software that can trigger messages (i.e. emails) when
certain conditions occur in the database that you are trying to identify
that avoids modifying BPCS source code.

Boy, I hope you didn't mean this to be as snippy as it seems to be.   Just
a
reminder to all, there are a great many BPCS users on this list who do
absolutely no programming at all and might not even have programming staff
on site, so the thought of having to make a change to a program IS a big
deal.
