Use FTP to pull the info down to the PC.

>From the PC, just click Start, Run, then FTP {systemname}, where the system
name is the AS/400 name with the data, or the IP address of the same system

Next, enter your AS/400 profile and password when it asks for it.

Then, change the directory of the "remote" AS/400 by typing "cd
libraryname", where libraryname is the BPCS data library.

Change the PC directory by typing "lcd X:/pcdirectory", where X is the PC
(or network) drive, and pcdirectory is the directory name.

Finally, where the rubber hits the road... type "get bpcsfilename
savetofilename.xxx". This gets the first file from the remote directory and
places it in the second file in the local directory.

This is the quick way to do it. If you want to get fancy with automation
from the AS/400 side, you can set up the FTP subcommands in a text file and
process them... but that's for another time.

One advantage of using FTP is you don't need client access to do it. A
disadvantage is you get the whole file. But it sure is fast!

Have fun!
