Ummm, after all this time on V5 have I forgotten my V4 completely?  Wasn't 
there a manufacturing method code in V4 MBM?  There is in V5/6, and this is 
exactly what it is for.  Getting your manufacturing engineers to set 
alternate methods up correctly and getting your planners to release/maintain 
shop orders with the proper method is another story, but upon achieving the 
latter method code should serve your purpose...
