We went live with 6.0.02 last August.  We did not convert any of our files.
All were manually keyed into BPCS on the strong advice of SSA and our
consultants.

Thier biggest concern was that we would be missing required fields, or that
BPCS would supply a value during data entry that it would not supply during
conversion.  Have you tried converting just a small representative portion
of your files into a test environment and checking a few records to be sure
this will work for you?  I think its worth the time spent.  If your
beginning data and master files contain errors you're going to see surprises
at every turn.  There are enough of those without trying to shortcut this
process.
