Different People are telling me different things about what they desire on
BPCS_L to the point that some people seem very opposed to what I thought other
people requested. For every 4-5 postings shared with everyone, I get 1
private e-mail from someone who saw one of my postings & wants to talk about
some aspect of it off the group, but it often seems to me that this is a topic
relevant to the whole group, while in many cases off-group is appropriate
because the Q & A is more Midreange_L than BPCS_L., then other contacts
indicated what they were interested in seeing me explore further.

example
> I'm usually looking for tips about security problems and how they have been
> solved.

I bounced this off the moderator because I think security problems cross a lot
of lines of Midrange_L and PCs that are not really BPCS but people can
circumvent BPCS security if the other kinds are not done right. It can
sometimes be difficult to explain a security problem when it is the interwoven
of different activities like in one case that I thought was embezzlement.

I not only got encouragement from Dean for trying to explore this type of
topic, but he also advised that I should be careful not to spell out the holes
in such a way that it would give a hacker a road map how to get in, but rather
from perspective of how to resolve them.

Then Dean got some complaints about my attempts at contributions. I am too
long winded. I am not asking questions. V6 is more popular than BPCS 405 CD.
This is not a place to discuss challenges of converting from BPCS/36.

I told our moderator
> You explained some guidelines after I asked some questions regarding them &
> I thought I was in accordance with the rules, but this is like the public
> highways. There are the posted government sponsorship rules and there are
> the people's rules - the users of the highways have their own rules that
> diverge from the sponsor expectations.

Until I hear different from an understanding of consensus of the users of this
BPCS_L highway of ideas, I will now post my long thoughtful essay type
presentations on BPCS Information Technology Management Challenging Issues on
some thread of the MC forums, such as AS/400 Application Packages of
http://www.midrangecomputing.com/ where there are some BPCS enthusiasts
hanging out that seem to have a different mix of what's acceptable. I am more
comfortable with the News/400 threaded discussion format but I have
encountered very few other BPCS users there, but their Q&A has been
meaningful.

while retricting my participation here to shorter contributions like my

Quickie Questions - at a road block & seek clues which way to go

& Brief Tips - I encountered something I thought was neat & wanted to share it
