We are using the dcServe product to interface to our BPCS 5.1.1 environment.
dcServe is a client/server application that has some components on the
AS/400 to interface to BPCS and others running on a Windows NT Workstation.
Under NT the product uses Microsoft SQL Server for a database. You create
transactions in dcServe to perform the activities that you want to
accomplish. I believe that you can create any transaction in dcServe that
BPCS can create.

Barcode transactions validate data against the in the SQL Server database
not the AS/400, but the SQL Server version of the BPCS database is kept in
sync with the BPCS database on the AS/400. They do this through the use of
IBM's MQ Series and database triggers. SSA Southeast is the creator of the
dcServe product. They are headquartered in Greensboro, North Carolina
(USA).

I am not affliated with SSA or SSA Southeast, just a user of their software.
